Abstract: Population aging is a crucial national problem in China's economic and social development in the 21st century. Improving
the quality of spiritual and cultural life of the elderly is an important and urgent task. To meet the spiritual needs of the elderly and to
improve the quality of their spiritual and cultural life, it is necessary to enhance practical investigation and theoretical research. Based
on an analysis of relevant literature, this paper points out the shortcomings and problems of the current spiritual and cultural life of the
elderly, puts forward suggestions of multidisciplinary integration and interdisciplinary research, and offers nine proposals for further
research.
